A Neuroscience Expert's Guide to Self-Care and Living Well
In a world obsessed with perfection, true wellness can feel just out of reach. But for Eva Sity, a neuroscience expert and yoga teacher whose practice interweaves yoga, sound, and breathwork, living well isn’t about chasing the next trend: it’s about creating space for the nervous system to feel alive. We caught up with her to learn more about her inspiring beauty and self-care vision, her thoughts on longevity and her daily mindful rituals.
How has your definition of beauty changed?
“I’ve come to believe beauty is deeply linked to perception, and perception is shaped by the nervous system. How I feel internally changes how I see myself externally, and vice versa. Instead of outsourcing authority, I listen. I slow down and notice what my body tells me through sensation — often before I can logically explain it. I trust what feels supportive, even if I don’t fully understand why. For me now, beauty is not performance, it’s relationship.”
How do you take care of yourself and your skin?
“I moved from complexity to consistency. I believe routine gives the brain predictability and predictability signals safety. My morning ritual is the Oh My Cream Skincare Cleansing Foam, the Plumping Face Oil and the Firming Rich Cream and then SPF, which helps me start the day. My evening ritual is a Plumping Serum, the Firming Rich Cream, which helps me release it. These small acts aren’t just skincare, they are state transitions for my nervous system.”
What does longevity mean to you?
“I believe longevity is not about living longer but living with clarity and softness. It’s about maintaining curiosity. Loads of people have called me as someone having the spirit of a child. What some call a childlike spirit, I see as neuroplasticity, the ability to keep exploring and adapting. To age well is to stay open.”
What advice would you give for cultivating rituals that nourish both the body and the soul?
“I believe small actions shape nervous system beliefs. The brain constantly looks for evidence of what we think we deserve. Every choice sends a message: “I am cared for” or “I am surviving”. So I return to this question: What is one small act today that tells your nervous system you are already chosen?”
