Goop Beauty’s Founder, Gwyneth Paltrow’s 10 wellness tips
We all dream of her glow... While her avant-garde rituals may sometimes seem unconventional, Gwyneth Paltrow has established herself as a true guru of holistic beauty. Let's shine a light on her favourite rituals to regain a glow inside and out."
Oil pulling with coconut oil
“First I do when I wake up is oil pulling with coconut oil so I have raw organic coconut oil, I put a spoonful in my mouth while I’m opening curtains and everything, I’m sort of swishing it around. It’s an Ayurvedic way to remove bacteria from the mouth. I love it. You do that and then you have a tongue scraper — wow! Your mouth feels super fresh in the morning.”
Morning meditation
“It is one of the most critical parts of my morning routine. So I do something that is called transcendental meditation, every morning with my husband. It’s a really nice way to start the day, just centered and king letting the mind empty out. I really find that creating a practice or a ritual out of something makes it so that you’re definitely investing in yourself for that time every day.”
10 000 steps a day
“A long walk outside is my stress release, and it’s so good for the body. I really think that walking brings the body and the soul together. It’s something my husband and I recently started doing. It’s been four years since we started our walking practice—60 to 90 minutes is usually the goal—and during COVID it saved us. We have a few set walks—there is a hike near our house—and two specific walks we do in Santa Monica. And then sometimes we’ll drive to Beverly Hills, park, and just see what happens.”
Intermittent but intuitive fasting
“I intermittent fast most days, so I finish eating around 7 in the evening and have my first meal of the day sometime between 11 and noon.) I had COVID-19 early on, and it left me with some long-tail fatigue and brain fog. In January, I had some tests done that showed high levels of inflammation in my body. So I turned to one of the smartest experts I know in this space, the functional medicine practitioner Dr. Will Cole. After he saw all my labs, he explained that this was a case where the road to healing was going to be longer than usual. So we’ve been doing a version of a protocol he outlines in his forthcoming book, Intuitive Fasting. It’s keto and plant-based but flexible.”
A 3-steps night routine
-
“I always do my Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator Goop Beauty, it is one of our absolute bestsellers, and I use it pretty much every night in the bath at night. So before I get in, I put it on my dry skin, scrub it in, and leave it on as I’m getting in the bath. And then I take it off.”

“Next, it’s on to my favourite cream I’ve ever used, All-in-One Nourishing Face Cream Goop Beauty. It works beautifully as a night cream. It’s really firming, with nourishing and youth-boosting benefits, and I love the rich, thick texture. Our clinical results speak for themselves with this one—it’s incredible what it can do for your skin.”
- “I use the All-in-One Super Nutrient Face Oil Goop Beauty multiple times a day, including before bed. I’m obsessed. I want to bathe in it. I want to drink it. It’s been a total game-changer for my skin. It’s made with bakuchiol, a natural retinol alternative that’s fantastic for fine lines and wrinkles, and it’s light and absorbs easily, cocooning skin like nothing else. I can’t live without it. Used over the face cream, it’s so good for my dry skin—it seals in all the goodness.”
