Veronica Genest on Longevity, Face Yoga and Redefining Beauty at 48
A former investment banker turned facial yoga instructor and wellness enthusiast, Veronica Genest has shaped a personal philosophy that balances discipline with intention. Originally from Argentina and based in London for over two decades, the mother of three has built a life anchored in movement, nourishment and mindful skincare, where ageing well is not a goal, but a daily practice of showing up for herself.
What does it feel like to age well in mind and body?
“Wellness and longevity to me mean to live an active and fulfilling life away from doctors and enjoying life to the fullest now and for many years to come. Ageing well for me means to be able to do now at 48 what I used to do in my twenties and keep on doing this in my 80's and 90’s like Madonna, Halle Berry and Jane Fonda, no expiration date for me!”
How did you first get introduced to face yoga?
“It was during lockdown when I saw it for the first time. It was a video of Danielle Collins, who has 20 years of experience and later became my facial yoga teacher trainer. Once I tried it, the benefits were amazing... Facial yoga and facial massage boost circulation, bringing blood flow and Oxigen to your skin whilst strengthening the muscles, what’s not to love! You can visibly compare the lift, the glow and the depuff of one side of your face if you only work on just that one side."
Do you have “non-negotiable” self-care rituals?
“Eat healthy protein and vegetables, (add some fruit). Avoid all processed food, avoid sugar, avoid alcohol and drink 2L of water for a week, and you will have the best skin of your life. Guaranteed. Then continue as much as possible with this, and your energy, inflammation, and overall mood will be so much better. `I also never miss my matcha, supplements, and 1-minute facial massage, like brushing my teeth; this is something I can't function without. I always choose healthy, nutritious food, move in some form and have sunshine exposure. I do infrared mask as much as possible, and I wish I could do this absolutely daily … I do it most days.”
What inspires you to maintain your wellness and beauty routines?
“The fact that I am a role model to my daughters, they might not see it that way, but we model so much to our kids, and the future generations should be more aware of the damage that their lifestyle choices cause.”
What advice would you give someone starting their wellness journey today?
“Do simple, healthy things that you enjoy and stack these small habits; if you try to do all at once, it will feel overwhelming, and you won't stick with them.”
