Veronica Genest on Longevity, Face Yoga and Redefining Beauty at 48

A former investment banker turned facial yoga instructor and wellness enthusiast, Veronica Genest has shaped a personal philosophy that balances discipline with intention. Originally from Argentina and based in London for over two decades, the mother of three has built a life anchored in movement, nourishment and mindful skincare, where ageing well is not a goal, but a daily practice of showing up for herself.

Tell us everything about yourself

“Absolutely! I am Veronica, first and foremost, mum of three wonderful girls. I am a Content Creator, Facial Yoga instructor and Wellness enthusiast. I'm originally from Argentina, and I have been living in London for over 20 years. I moved here following my dream of working in Investment Banking, which I did for a few years until I had my daughters.”

Have you always taken care of yourself?

“Skincare, eating healthy and exercising have always been important to me, not only for aesthetic reasons but also to have a long and healthy life. “In my teens and twenties wellness for me was mainly for aesthetic reasons and to clear my head when I was studying or learning all the perks of living in a new country with a new language and very different rules, Now it has the very long lasting goal of living a calm long and healthy live and be able to have full vitality until my last days!”

What does it feel like to age well in mind and body?

“Wellness and longevity to me mean to live an active and fulfilling life away from doctors and enjoying life to the fullest now and for many years to come. Ageing well for me means to be able to do now at 48 what I used to do in my twenties and keep on doing this in my 80's and 90’s like Madonna, Halle Berry and Jane Fonda, no expiration date for me!”

How did you first get introduced to face yoga?

“It was during lockdown when I saw it for the first time. It was a video of Danielle Collins, who has 20 years of experience and later became my facial yoga teacher trainer. Once I tried it, the benefits were amazing... Facial yoga and facial massage boost circulation, bringing blood flow and Oxigen to your skin whilst strengthening the muscles, what’s not to love! You can visibly compare the lift, the glow and the depuff of one side of your face if you only work on just that one side."

How do you truly take care of yourself and your skin?

“I adore a good oil and a good moisturiser, I am a firm believer of Facial Yoga and Facial massage so I apply my skincare with intention’ making sure every movement counts. I love discovering new creams, and the new Firming Rich Cream by Oh My Cream Skincare is in my go-to beauty counter at the moment and travels with me wherever I go. I also love Augustine Bader Rich Cream, a bliss for facial massage. I alternate SPFs, and I’m being more conscious about it, I wish I were as good as with my moisturiser! Vitamin C and Hyaluronic acid are in my beauty regime as well, and I alternate a few favourites.

#seo : ziip halo

"I’ve recently added the clever Ziip Halo by Ziip Beauty to my routine. I love how it uses dual-wave microcurrent to lift, sculpt and wake up the skin. The result is more definition, better tone and a real, cumulative healthy glow with just a few minutes a few times a week. I'm also obsessed with Violette_FR lipsticks... From the Bisou Balm, to the Lip Nectar and Bisou Jelly and Plume Lips, and Victoria Beckham Beauty's Lip Definers. I thought she was all about eyes but her lipliners are revolutionary. Oh Also I cant live without Violette_FR  Bisou Blush."

Do you have “non-negotiable” self-care rituals?

“Eat healthy protein and vegetables, (add some fruit). Avoid all processed food, avoid sugar, avoid alcohol and drink 2L of water for a week, and you will have the best skin of your life. Guaranteed. Then continue as much as possible with this, and your energy, inflammation, and overall mood will be so much better. `I also never miss my matcha, supplements, and 1-minute facial massage, like brushing my teeth; this is something I can't function without. I always choose healthy, nutritious food, move in some form and have sunshine exposure. I do infrared mask as much as possible, and I wish I could do this absolutely daily … I do it most days.”

What is an easy self-massage you recommend for beginners?

“There are so many techniques that I love, but I think some of them are instantly lifting, so beginners can start with those. If you place your index and middle fingers mimicking a hook, and then massage your jaw line from the middle of the chin to the start of your ear 20 times (each side) for 2 weeks, you will see more definition in your jawline and better jaws if you have any, otherwise it will prevent you from having them. Another favourite exercise that my students love is to apply pressure with your index finger upwards on top of your eyebrows 20 times; you will see instant lift, and you can compare with the other eyebrow. Overtime this shows lifted eyebrows and better under eye are too.”

What inspires you to maintain your wellness and beauty routines?

“The fact that I am a role model to my daughters, they might not see it that way, but we model so much to our kids, and the future generations should be more aware of the damage that their lifestyle choices cause.”

What’s the biggest misconception about wellness or longevity that you encounter, and what’s the reality?

“Biggest misconception is that longevity and wellness are restrictive, complicated and expensive. I think if you incorporate daily movement, like walking or running, eat locally produced food that is in season and have healthy relationships, friends and family, you have done more than half the wellness and longevity part.”

What advice would you give someone starting their wellness journey today?

“Do simple, healthy things that you enjoy and stack these small habits; if you try to do all at once, it will feel overwhelming, and you won't stick with them.”
