In conversation with the man behind Casa Lopez, Pierre Sauvage
A lively, Latin-inspired interior design house, Casa Lopez creates sun-drenched interiors where elegance and artisanal craftsmanship converge in beautifully designed everyday objects. To celebrate our recent collaboration and mark the launch of our co-created Summer Tote Bag, we meet with Pierre Sauvage, the brand’s director, to learn more about his vision of beauty and his self-care rituals.
How does beauty influence your work and the vision behind Casa Lopez?
“Casa Lopez draws deeply on nature, Spain and the Mediterranean – it’s the idea of a sunlit, colourful El Dorado. It’s a joyful, vibrant, Latin-inspired brand where objects move freely between the home and garden.”
"There's something striking about this fusion of worlds. Looking after your skin or your home is, ultimately, the same gesture: a moment for you and you alone that’s rather intimate in some ways."
Have you always taken good care of yourself?
“Yes, always – even if sometimes quickly. It’s a moment where you come face to face with yourself in the mirror. It clears your mind.”
And which of the Summer Tote Bag's beauty essentials do you always take with you in summertime?
“First off, the Sun Water SPF50+ that I already mentioned – a must-have for protecting your skin. I also take the Mimétique Skin Revive Face Serum with me and the Torriden Balanceful Mask for a hydration boost.”
Ultimately, what does ‘taking care of yourself’ mean to you?
“Taking the time to live, peacefully.”
