Light the end of the sage stick with a match or candle and allow it to burn for 2-3 seconds before blowing out the flame. To purify a room or during a meditation session, diffuse the smoke by placing the stick in a bowl. You can also use a feather to fan the smoke and diffuse it more easily. To more vigorously purify precious stones and objects, diffuse the smoke around the objects for a few seconds.
