Why is Ilia True Skin Concealer one of the best concealers?
There's no such thing as the perfect concealer, since everyone's skin and coverage criteria are different, but one of our favourite concealers is with no doubt Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer. With its light, silky texture, it's perfect for normal to dry skin looking for light but flexible coverage. Capable of hiding the effects of a too-short night's sleep, a small pimple or even localised redness, it's the anti-dark circle product to have in your make-up bag. What else, we love its multi-functionality, as it can actually be applied to all areas of the face, in dabs. So you can give an immediate 'radiance' effect to all skin tones, without exception. It's just a question of knowing which shade is ideal for your skin, because if you choose the wrong dark circles concealer, it can also have the opposite effect and look very unnatural! Discover our shade guide.
How do I apply my concealer?
Apply the concealer directly to the shadows only. Ideally, you should start at the inner corner of the eye, but bear in mind that dark areas are all different. If you have bags under your eyes, the shaded areas will be less close to your eyes but will be more towards the bottom of the circle, in a semicircle, which is where the product should be applied. For a natural result, apply the product with your fingertips. You can also apply it with a small, flat brush, alternating tapping and sweeping movements. To conceal larger areas such as marked redness, choose a wide, flat brush or use your finger again. The trick to hiding small spots? Use a very small brush, such as a lip brush or liner brush, then add product directly to the skin, dab with the brush and finish with your fingertips. You can also apply a light dusting of powder to set the result. For a 'lift' effect around the eyes, use a small brush and add some concealer to the outer corner of the eye.
